From 5-7 October, the DISA and Wheelabrator industry experts joined a variety of exhibiting companies at FUNDIEXPO 2016, one of the most important foundry exhibitions in Latin America.
The event, which takes place every two years, attracted over 6,000 attendees from across Mexico and South America at the Querétaro Conference Center in Querétaro, Mexico to network, learn and experience the latest innovations in the industry.
Based at booth D405, DISA and Wheelabrator’s foundry experts met with a record number of visitors from across the Americas to discuss specific application needs and requirements for their companies. Mexico is well known as an important hub for the global automotive industry going back almost 100 years to 1925, when Ford established a manufacturing base in the country. The sector has been experiencing a long boom period over the last decade and as a result, many of the foundries in Mexico are geared toward automotive.
In addition to meeting many automotive foundry specialists, the DISA and Wheelabrator teams also spoke to representatives from companies dedicated to hydraulic infrastructure components such as pumps, valves and grating, as well as those focused on electrical components such as transformer components and electrical connectors. The Wheelabrator team found Equipment Modernisation Programmes (EMPs) were of particular interest to many attendees, with large foundries looking to upgrade blast wheels and other parts of their current blast machines.
