The world meets in Hanover – to talk sheet metal

Heike Kramer, Marketing Communications Manager at Wheelabrator in Germany, looks back on a successful EuroBLECH 2016.

The official show report recapping this year’s EuroBLECH celebrates a record-breaking year for the exhibition, and many of the impressive numbers referenced in the report echo impressions from our stand. For example, EuroBLECH has become incredibly international. We welcomed visitors from 28 countries at the Wheelabrator stand – including many from outside Europe and from as far away as South America, Australia, Africa and the Middle-East. The distance travelled was a good indicator of how seriously visitors took the show as an opportunity to make purchasing decisions.

People approached the Wheelabrator booth with in-depth prior knowledge and were keen to discuss specific applications and projects. Many left behind technical drawings for us to base quotations on. In total, we captured nearly 50 qualified leads.

Our partnership with FICEP, whose stand was neighbouring ours, also proved very popular, with customers increasingly looking for turnkey solutions and large-scale, intelligently integrated lines that include state-of-the-art Wheelabrator blast equipment. Several of my colleagues were kept very busy explaining our technology to interested FICEP customers.

Finally, the show’s international flair was also reflected in the many meetings with partners, agents and representatives. We used the opportunity to reconnect in person with our contacts in Norway, Greece and Kenya, to name a few, with a number of orders in the pipeline as a result.

To sum up, we were impressed with the caliber of visitors and look back on many important and informative conversations at EuroBLECH 2016.
